Total Eyecare Festival

Singaporeans will soon look at eye-care in a different light thanks to
a historical event that will kick off on October 11, 2007 right through
to October 14, 2007. The event, known as the Total Eyecare Festival
will bring together the “The 3-O’s” (Opticians, Optometrist,
Ophthalmologist) for the very first time.

The festival will be held at Marina Square, Linkbridge Atrium – Level
2 and members of the public are invited to visit the festival to get a
complete and holistic picture of how they can improve their general
eyecare from a patient and consumer perspective.

Giving knowledge will be one of the key themes of the event.
Prominent medical practitioners will provide talks about eyecare and
free eye screenings will be provided for visitors at the festival. There
will be lots of goodie bags and prizes to be won too.

However, the festival is more than just a medical event – it will
provide something for everyone no matter how young or old. The
Health Promotion Board (HPB) will be putting on entertaining skits for
younger visitors and events will be specially organised for both the
young and old.

Visitors at the festival will be able to view a wide display of products
like contact lens solution and eye-drops, contact lenses and eye
glasses provided by the leading lights of the eyecare industry. At the
end of the day, visitors will leave the festival with a greater
knowledge and understanding about general eyecare issues and the
various diseases that Singaporean are faced with from a consumer /
patient standpoint.
